WELCOME

THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR WEBSITE.

We hope that you find it helpful and informative.  Whether you are new to Greer or the surrounding community, a long-time resident, or just visiting  we invite you to come and worship with us.

New to the Episcopal Church?

We invite you to visit "Our Beliefs" section that will give you some more information about the Episcopal Church. Also, the Episcopal Church website is a great resource to learn more.

What can I expect?

You can expect to be welcomed! We offer two different services each week. Each has its own style, but all follow the Book of Common Prayer  and the Revised Common Lectionary.

Each Sunday's Order of Service from the Book of Common Prayer is available at the entrance to the church.

Do you serve Communion?

Yes, at most services Holy Communion is offered. All baptized Christians are invited to receive Holy Communion at the rail in front of the altar. If you have mobility issues that make it difficult for you to approach the rail for communion, please let an usher know, and Sister Fergie can come to you in your pew.

How should I dress?

Come as you are comfortable. Some of our members may be dressed up, and others will be casually dressed. All that matters is that you are here with us.

What about the kids?

Children and babies are always welcome at any service, but a playroom is provided in the Parish Hall for those who wish to use it. The service is live streamed into the Parish Hall. Busy bags are available for children at the entrance to the church.

What about visitors with special needs?

We welcome everyone, and it is our hope that everyone feels included in our service. A visual schedule and noise-cancelling headphones are available at the church entrance for anyone who would find them useful. For those who need a quieter space, the service can be viewed from the parish hall. If there are any other ways we can help, please don't hesitate to let us know.

How do I become a member of Good Shepherd?

We are delighted to welcome new members into the Good Shepherd family. During the bishop's annual visit we have Baptism, Confirmation, Reception and Reaffirmation. If you are already a confirmed Episcopalian, you may request a Canonical Letter of Transfer from your former parish to the Church of the Good Shepherd. Call (864.877.2330) or email the church office and we will send the request for you.

Do you have handicap parking on the premises?

Yes, we have handicap parking available and visitors parking on the street.

Where are you located?

We are located on the corner of Cannon Street and Jason Street in downtown Greer, near Greer City Park. Click on the image below for directions from Google Maps.
